Camp Gregory

A retreat for Veterans and their families.
Situated 30 mins south of Bundaberg lives a relaxing and pristine piece of Australia we call Camp Gregory. A 40 acre rural property adjacent to the Gregory River and 5 minutes drive to Woodgate beach. Owned locally and built by a small network of veterans and supporters who believe that the establishment of a national network of Veterans’ camping retreats Australia-wide will save our nations lives and money.crab

Camp Gregory, known as a “place of healing” quoted by a Vietnam Veteran is well known by the locals as a great fishing spot with all the crabs you can eat. Bring your tents, camper trailer, caravan or fifth wheeler. There is plenty of room here to set up for the most relaxing camping get away.

Fires are allowed, we have toilets and clean rain water, working fridges (BYO generator), and solar lighting in kitchen and dining areas. Free to all Veterans’ travelling with their families (dogs included). Maximum stay 2 weeks.

xmasChristmas at Camp Gregory 2014

The mud crabs were plentiful, food abundant, drinks flowing.  What a great Family Christmas.  Santa Clause found us and even delivered presents.
Went 4x4ing and someone got bogged, don’t worry Eric we wont mention who.  Had a great day at the beach with the kids swimming and eating water melon on boxing day.
Midges nearly drove us crazy if we forgot to put the aeroguard on come dusk.  Played cards, cricket in the ocean and on land, some ate too much and drank too much.
